Denver Officials To Investigate 876 Abuse Cases Involving Seniors & Intellectually/Developmentally Disabled

The Denver police and Denver District Attorney (DA) are working to investigate a current total of 876 abuse cases involving seniors and/or intellectually or developmentally disabled adults this year. The two units will work to develop these cases and prosecute offenders. Police anticipate investigating 762 cases of elder abuse and 114 cases related to abuse of at-risk adults in 2017.

The Denver police have created a new Special Victims Unit, which will conduct joint investigations with social workers and district attorney investigators.
