Dakota County Becomes First Minnesota County To Launch Vitals Aware Services
Dakota County recently became the first county in Minnesota to launch Vitals Aware Services. The service aims to improve interactions and relationships between law enforcement and individuals with intellectual, behavioral, or developmental challenges.
As part of the implementation of these services, around 500 police officers will receive training over the next two to three months. By utilizing the new training technology, the county hopes to improve law enforcement interactions with individuals living with dementia, developmental disabilities, and mental health challenges.
