Computer Programs And Systems Inc. (CPSI), an Alabama-based electronic health record (EHR) vendor, recently announced its acquisition of Get Real Health in an $11 million transaction. CPSI is seeking to improve health care consumer outcomes and communication between consumers and health care provider organizations through this acquisition.
In the $11 million transaction, CPSI will gain the digital consumer engagement tools of Get Real Health. These tools are used by public, federal, and private health care organizations throughout Europe, Canada, Australia, and the United States. The tools include chronic care management solutions, a health care consumer portal, and the ability to combine clinical and personal health data into a single view. CPSI serves 4600 acute, ambulatory, and post-acute care facilities across the United States. Additionally, late last month, Get Real Health’s product known as Lydia was identified by Microsoft as a safe place for health care consumers to transfer existing data stored on HealthVault due to the pending retirement of HealthVault.
CPSI, founded in 1979, is known for serving community-based hospitals, clinics, and lost acute facilities. It is the parent company of Evident, LLC. American HealthTech, Inc., and TruBridge, LLC.
