Community Health Systems Sells 60-Bed Louisiana Hospital

Community Health Systems (CHS) recently completed an agreement to sell Louisiana-based Byrd Regional Hospital to Allegiance Health Management (Allegiance). Acquisition of the 60-bed hospital is expected to be complete by the close of this year’s second quarter.

The sale serves as part of CHS’s announced plans in 2016 to sell upwards of 30 hospitals in an effort to help pay its nearly $15 billion in debt at the time.
