The Cohen Veterans Network is opening their first clinic in Florida to serve post 9/11 veterans. More than 230,000 veterans in the state will be able to get customized, life-saving mental health care at no, or low cost through the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic at Aspire Health Partners.
The Cohen Veterans Network is a 501(c)(3) national non-profit philanthropic network of mental health clinics for post 9/11 veterans and their families. The expected wait between first contact and a first appointment at the new Cohen Clinic is less than one week. For anyone in crisis, the Cohen Clinic will schedule same day appointments.
According to Anthony Hassan, Ed.D., LCSW, Tampa has a significant need for mental health care services for post-9/11 veterans. Additionally, according to Dr. Hassan, the organization is seeking to eventually provide high-quality services through an online video platform. Treatment will be available for veterans and their family members for a variety of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, adjustment issues, anger, grief and loss, family issues, transitional challenges, relationship problems, and child behavioral problems.
The Cohen Veterans Network provides high-quality, accessible, and comprehensive mental health care to veterans and their families. The client-centered, outpatient care aims to support veterans and their families as they begin their next mission: healthy and happy lives. Through the national network of Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinics, veterans and their families are eligible for free, personalized, and evidence-based mental health care along with comprehensive case management support to deal with other stresses like unemployment, finances, housing, and legal issues.
