Co-operative Group Limited Acquires Health-Tech Startup As Group Profits Double
Co-op Ventures, a newly established unit of Co-operative Group Limited (Co-op), recently announced it is acquiring technology platform Dimec. The announcement accompanies news that Co-op has virtually doubled its profits during the first half of this year.
With the acquisition, Co-op—which classically has been more heavily involved in the food market, amongst others—enters the £10.5 pharmacy market in the United Kingdom. The move will also create numerous new career opportunities in the Manchester and Merseyside regions, and—according to Co-op Ventures leadership—accelerate the development of the company’s health care . . .
