Centers For Medicare & Medicaid Services Release Strategies To Address The Opioid Epidemic
The Centers For Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently issued a letter pertaining to how they will offer new flexibilities to help states improve access to – and quality of – treatment for addiction disorder. Specifically, the strategies are aimed at battling the current opioid epidemic.
The new strategies, which are made possible through Medicaid 1115 demonstrations, seek to support state initiatives by requiring less upfront administrative process barriers for approvals of state initiatives pertaining to combatting opioid abuse.
