Carolinas HealthCare System Changes Names To Atrium Health, Announces Merger With Navicent Health
Carolinas Healthcare System recently changed its name to Atrium Health—a brand transition that it anticipates to take about two years. Additionally, the company announced that it will be merging with Georgia-based Navicent Health.
Atrium Health has explained its inspiration for the name change as the embodiment of the many definitions for the word “atrium”—a chamber of the heart, an area filled with light, or a place where people meet. In reference to its acquisition of Navicent, Atrium anticipates that the purchase will allow improved access to health care and lowers costs for consumers.
