CAMH To Open New Research Hub For People With Both Developmental Disabilities & Mental Illness
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) recently announced it is opening a new research hub for consumers with developmental disabilities and mental illness. The Azrieli Centre for Adult Neurodevelopmental Disabilities and Mental Health will focus on needs of adults with autism, Down syndrome, and other neurodevelopmental disabilities.
It is anticipated that through research and education, adults with these conditions will not fall through the cracks. Additionally, the center will seek to prevent occurrences of clinical professionals attributing the symptoms of one disorder to another, something which can cause the dismissal of symptoms or disorders.
