Bridgeport Rescue Mission To Purchase Astoria Park Nursing Home

Non-profit poverty fighting organization Bridgeport Rescue Mission (Bridgeport) recently announced that it is purchasing the Astoria Park nursing home to convert it into a community care center. Bridgeport anticipates that the move will allow it to expand its addiction recovery services by taking advantage of the large size facility.

According to a statement from the organization’s executive director, Terry Wilcox, the purchase of the facility will likely happen toward the end of February. The purchase of the 62,000 square-foot building comes in part from donations from Bridgeport’s supporters and local businesses.
