Best Buy Acquires Health Services Company For $800 Million
Best Buy recently announced it is acquiring health care provider organization Greatcall for $800 million. The purchase marks the largest acquisition in Best Buy’s history, and furthers the company’s focus of selling products and services to seniors.
GreatCall, which has more than 900,000 paid subscribers, provides personal emergency services for elderly individuals, as well as offers mobile products and connected devices. These services will be added to Best Buy’s marketing, sales, and service capabilities whenever the transaction officially closes—an event anticipated by the end of the third quarter of FY 2019.
