Bergen New Bridge Medical Center, the largest hospital in New Jersey, announced a new agreement with Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey (Horizon BCBSNJ), the state’s largest health insurer, during a press conference held at the facility. According to Deborah Visconi, president and chief executive officer of Bergen New Bridge, the new partnership will increase access to efficient, effective, and quality care, enhancing the health and well-being of the community.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy attended the event to show his appreciation for the historic agreement, which now provides the 230,000 residents in Bergen County who are insured through Horizon BCBSNJ with total access to a continuum of quality care on one campus, close to home. According to Bergen County Executive James J. Tedesco, III, the historic agreement will allow the organization to expand access to services and care to a larger population.
Reaching a new agreement with Horizon BCBSNJ is the latest example of both entities efforts to invest in and advocate on behalf of the community. According to Allen Karp, executive vice president of Healthcare Management and Transformation at Horizon BCBSNJ, the organization is looking forward to collaborating with Bergen New Bridge to expand access to the essential services that the community needs.
