ACO Partner—an accountable care organization (ACO) formed and jointly operated by Change Healthcare and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona—recently announced it is awarding $148,000 to 148 clinical professionals. The awardees were selected because they earned shared savings in the program during the fourth quarter of 2016.
ACO Partner offers services to provider organizations it contracts with, such as care coordination, consumer data analytics, and provider engagement services to earn shared savings. Separating ACO Partner from most other ACOs is the fact that clinical professionals can receive rewards for value-based performances without having to pay for any sort of membership or service fees. Value-based care focuses more on quality of care, rather than simply quantity of care. Come September of this year, the ACO will award its next round of clinical professionals, who will be selected based off of results for the 2017 program year.
ACO Partner is an independent clinical professional-centric organization that works with payers, provider organizations, and consumers to create value-based care models. ACO Partner is a payer-neutral company, with the goal of achieving the “triple aim” of improved consumer experience, improved health of the population, and improved care efficiency.
