Humana Inc. (Humana) and Bridges Health Partners (Bridges) recently formed a value-based agreement for Medicare Advantage members living in western Pennsylvania. Bridges is a clinically integrated network—or accountable care organization (ACO)—dedicated to supporting clinical professional-led care teams across its four partner health systems and their seven hospitals.
The agreement will hold clinical professionals accountable for consumer health outcomes if the clinical professional is affiliated with Bridges and in Humana’s Medicare Advantage network. The changes marks yet another transition in the health care market from fee-for-service to value-based reimbursement.
Humana Inc. is a for-profit American health insurance company that covers over 13 million consumers in the United States. Humana is committed to helping its millions of medical and specialty members achieve their best health.
