OPEN MINDS Announces Enhanced Executive Education Programs on Technology

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania – OPEN MINDS announced this week an enhanced series of executive education programs focused on the management of emerging technologies in the behavioral health and social service field. “As breakthrough technologies are emerging in the field, we’re seeing the need for highly tailored executive updates and management education on the technology trends and technology topics,” said Monica E. Oss, chief executive officer of OPEN MINDS. “Over the past quarter, we have greatly enhanced our programs in this crucial area.”

The jewel in the crown of the OPEN MINDS technology offerings is the Institute for Behavioral Health Informatics: The Future of Technology in Behavioral Health, which will be held on November 9-10, 2006, in Washington, DC. The Institute for Behavioral Health Informatics (IBHI), cosponsored with the University of Pittsburgh, is the leading industry-wide gathering of public and private system executives, academic researchers, clinical professionals, policymakers, and administrators devoted to exploring the future of the application of information and information technology in the behavioral health field. Informatics covers a broad range of issues in the management and use of biomedical information, including the resources, devices, and methods required to optimize the acquisition, storage, retrieval, and use of technology and information to address problems related to behavioral health. The Institute’s look at behavioral health informatics includes not only the technology itself, but also developments in neurotechnology, clinical guidelines, available software, and information and communication systems.

For executives focused on the application of new technology in their organization’s operations, OPEN MINDS has expanded its acclaimed executive institute, “World Class Tools to Maximize Performance: The 2007 OPEN MINDS Information Technology & Financial Management Institute.” This institute, which will be held on February 1-2, 2007, in New Orleans, Louisiana, will provide participating executives with best practices in deploying financial management tools and new technologies. The institute combines presentations of the latest practice models by the OPEN MINDS consulting team with executive case studies and executive roundtables showing hands-on approaches and experience.

In addition to these two cutting edge events, the OPEN MINDS team has also launched a series of problem-focused webinars. The executive on-line briefings cover five key topics:

  • Evaluating Your Data System Reporting Functionality: A Step-by-Step Approach.
    (September 21, 2006)

  • How to Link Your Technology Plan to Your Strategic Plan: Case Studies in Using Technology to Solve Your Strategic Management Challenges. (March 8, 2007)

  • How to Develop Functional Specifications for Choosing an Information System.
