Mark Rothstein to Deliver Keynote Address at the 2006 Institute for Behavioral Health Informatics in Washington, D.C.

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania – The second annual Institute for Behavioral Health Informatics will feature as its keynote speaker, Mark Rothstein, a leading authority on the ethical, legal, and social implications of genetics, privacy, health policy, and employment law. He has advised such groups as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Congress, and many others. Professor Rothstein will open the Institute on the first day with his address entitled, “Protecting Privacy and Confidentiality.”

Professor Rothstein is currently the Herbert F. Boehl Chair of Law and Medicine. He is also the Director of the University of Louisville Institute for Bioethics, Health Policy and Law, a collaboration between the University’s Schools of Medicine and Law. The Institute was born in 2001 with the intention of conducting research, teaching, and to provide service in its related fields.

Professor Rothstein is just one of several prominent presenters scheduled to attend the Institute entitled, “2006 Institute for Behavioral Health Informatics: The Future of Technology in Behavioral Health.” The Institute will be held at the Westin Arlington Gateway in Arlington, Virginia, on November 9-10, 2006.
