Third Annual Institute for Behavioral Health Informatics to Focus on Public Policy, Emerging Technologies, and the Future of Informatics

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania – The Third Annual Institute for Behavioral Health Informatics will focus on public policy, emerging technologies, and the future of informatics. Information technology is pushing public policy to become more rapid in its response to consumers. Deploying and managing emerging technology will lead to a quickly changing clinical learning environment as well as improve the effectiveness of case management practices. Finally, the future of informatics in the behavioral health and social service landscape continues to advance toward the intersection of information science and clinical care as the resources, devices, and methods required to optimize treatment not only become available, but are now in demand by more and more consumers. “It is time that the behavioral health and social service fields move forward in the adoption of new technologies and new ways of managing those technologies as consumer demand will only continue to rise for such changes that offer advances and improvements to their lives,” believes Monica E. Oss, chief executive officer of OPEN MINDS.

The Institute will be held on October 25-26, 2007, in Washington, D.C at the Sheraton Crystal City Hotel. The Institute focuses on a number of key areas of technology applications in the behavioral health field, including:

  • Creating A Rapid Clinical Learning Environment with Electronic Health Records to Improve Behavioral Health Care
