“The Right People in the Right Places” is the Theme for OPEN MINDS 2007 Executive Leadership Institute in Gettysburg

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania – OPEN MINDS announced “The Right People in the Right Places” as the theme of this year’s 2007 OPEN MINDS Executive Leadership Institute: “Building Your Executive Leadership Team.” Convened in historic Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on September 13th and 14th, the event will offer a unique leadership development experience for health and human service executives. “The behavioral health and social service field is facing a leadership crisis. A rapidly changing market environment and record executive retirement rate are creating new pressure on leadership development,” said Monica E. The Leadership Institute moves to the battlefield on Day 2. The morning session will examine the leadership challenges facing Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain at Little Round Top. Learn from Colonel Chamberlain's own battlefield experience in order to examine transactional and transformational leadership styles, and the varying roles that each style of leadership plays in any given situation. The afternoon session will explore critical decision making in times of organizational stress and change by studying the infamous Pickett's Charge. “We will walk the fields trod by General Robert E. Lee and Colonel Joshua Chamberlin and get a historical perspective on leadership and timeless leadership principles – all clearly applicable to today’s behavioral health market space,” explained Monica E.
