The 2005 OPEN MINDS Executive Leadership Institute Focuses on 'The Right Players in the Right Places'

Gettysburg, Pennsylvania - "Effective leadership and assembling the right team are the keys to success when implementing organizational change in the behavioral health and social service field. That's what drove our theme for the 2005 institute – 'the right players in the right places,'" said OPEN MINDS President Monica E. Oss.

This year's 2005 OPEN MINDS Executive Leadership Institute: Building Your Executive Leadership Team will be held on July 28-29, 2005, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, at The Best Western Historic Gettysburg Hotel. This Institute is the only event for executives in the behavioral health and social service industry incorporating the leadership styles of present with the lessons learned through historic Civil War leaders.

Take a break from the ‘usual stuff’ and participate in a unique approach to examining leadership principles in the classroom and on the battlefield. Leadership styles used during the Battle of Gettysburg, battles that freed our country from slavery, will be compared to leadership styles used today. Day one will expose you to the elements of today’s leadership challenges of managing change, building leadership skill, improving efficiencies and succession management. Day two of this institute will include trips to the National Battlefield with noted historians and guides Ambassador Lawrence Taylor and William Rosenbach, Ph.D. to help participants envision Civil War leadership styles in action. Exploring leadership through examples outside the human services field is a critical component when contemplating organizational change and determining how to facilitate it.
