February 24, 2006 Pamela Hyde, Secretary of the New Mexico Human Services Department, to Deliver Keynote Address at 2006 Rural Behavioral Health Clinical Management Institute in Albuquerque Gettysburg, Pennsylvania – The first annual Rural Behavioral Health Clinical Management Institute on March 30 and 31, 2006, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, will feature as its keynote speaker Secretary of the New Mexico Human Services Department, Pamela S. Hyde, J.D. Secretary Hyde will kick off the Institute on the first day with her address entitled, "Quality Through Collaboration: The Future of Rural Health." During the presentation, she will examine the quality of health care in rural America and describe how New Mexico is leading the way to change by implementing the Interagency Behavioral Health Purchasing Collaborative Initiative. Secretary Hyde was appointed as Cabinet Secretary for the Human Services Department in December 2002, by Governor Bill Richardson and was confirmed in January 2003, by the New Mexico State Senate. A lawyer by training, Secretary Hyde has 25 years of experience in management and consulting for public sector systems of health care and human services. As Secretary of New Mexico’s Human Services Department, she is committed to improving access, quality, and accountability of health & human service programs for the residents of New Mexico. The 2006 Rural Behavioral Health Clinical Management Institute is the first in a two-part series of educational events co-sponsored by OPEN MINDS and WICHE.
