OPEN MINDS and New Jersey Association of Community Providers Launch Human Service Leadership Academy

Leadership Academy to Provide Critical Tools for Clinical Executives in Management Roles

ShareEwing, NJ (December 8, 2010) ― The New Jersey Association of Community Providers (NJACP) and OPEN MINDS announced the launch of their collaboration, the Human Services Leadership Academy. The focus of the Human Services Leadership Academy is to provide clinical professionals in executive, management, and administrative roles with the business tools they need for success.

“These are challenging times in the human service field,” said OPEN MINDS chief executive officer, Monica E. Oss. “Executives are facing budget cuts, performance-based contracting mandates, the impact of health care reform, increasingly competitive procurement, and rate pressures in fee-for-service billing. Many human service executives have long tenure in their organizations and a lasting commitment to the consumers they serve ― but what they need are leadership and management tools-tools to help their organization survive and thrive in these challenging times.”

The Human Services Leadership Academy offers executives a certificate program to build their management skills. After successful completion of 60 hours of executive education, participating executives receive a Certificate in Human Service Leadership from the Academy. Executives also have the option to earn an Advanced Certification in Human Service Leadership. To keep their Certification current, certified human service management professionals will complete 60 hours of management continuing education in the following three-year period.

To earn their Certification, participating executives have the option of attending two different types of educational programs ―  The Human Service Leadership Academy Seminars and OPEN MINDS Executive Management Institutes.
