Between 2006 and 2008, total spending on mental health disorders for children in the United States grew by 37%. In 2008, expenditures for mental health disorders for children totaled $12.2 billion and amounted to 10.6% of total spending ($114.5 billion) on treatment for children for all conditions in that year.
