OPEN MINDS is seeking a Publication & Education Coordinator to assist in the creation and management of new publications and the planning of executive education events. This includes marketing and customer service. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn and comfortable with taking on new responsibilities.

These services include market intelligence, market research, executive education, and management consultation.

Our teams experience and expertise include the fields of strategic management, financial management, technology & information management, leadership & governance, and marketing & innovation.

This position is responsible for two specific areas: one, assisting in the creation and management of the library of OPEN MINDS publications; and two, assisting in the planning of education services events. Below are the responsibilities and requirements for the position:

Responsibilities for the position include:

  • Coordination of Publications
    • Planning, research, project management, and coordination of new publications, including readings books, surveys, market directories, and books and workbooks composed by external authors.
    • Development of a marketing plan for all publications, including promotion schedules, copy for advertising, press releases, etc.
    •  Layout and copy edits to publications as directed.
  • Assist in planning for education services events
    •  Maintaining and updating institute websites
    • Coordination of registration for event attendees and follow-up after events
    •  Coordination with event sponsors regarding exhibit hall set up, complementary registrations, and other terms of event sponsor contracts
    •  Preparation for the on-site needs at events (e.g., creation of name badges, packing materials, coordinating attendee bags, etc.)


Skills, experience, and education required:

  • Demonstrated ability to use computer applications for publishing; including, but not limited to, the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint), desktop publishing programs (Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Expressions), and electronic mail.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple project deadlines.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work cooperatively in person and by telephone with clients and staff.
  • Strong “customer” orientation, with ability and willingness to respond promptly and effectively to the needs of event attendees and sponsors, as well as authors and consultants.
  • College degree required.
  • Individual must have self-initiative, personal autonomy, and ability to maintain a positive attitude.
  • Ability to lift/carry 35 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to stand and sit for extended periods of time; ability to bend and lift from a sitting or standing position
  • Visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
  • Individual must have a flexible schedule, be able to drive/travel unattended as required, and possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Individual must possess and have the ability to use a personal credit card for travel and occasional purchases on behalf of the organization.
