Accounting Manager: OPEN MINDS

The Accounting Manager has three direct reports and is a member of the executive team. This is a critical team member, responsible for maintaining and closely monitoring the financial and business operations necessary to support the organization’s mission, goals, and objectives. The position includes responsibility for financial management, human resource administration, physical plant management, and telecommunications management. Below are the responsibilities and requirements for the position:
Responsibilities for the position include:
1. Oversee all finance functions including, but not limited to:
- Manage the corporate accounting systems including, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes.
- Manage the cash accounts, including the daily cash balances report, weekly cash flash report, and current status of line of credit.
- Manage the payroll process and records.
- Manage the accounts payable functions
- Manage the accounts receivable functions, including collections
- Manage the expense report processing to assure that company policies are adhered to
- Prepare all monthly reports required for the monthly general ledger closing and assist the president and CFO with review and closing each month.
2. Human resources administration management:
- Requires a minimum of 4+ years or more in Health and Human Services related experience working in technology or consulting space
- Requires proven experience in writing and developing proposals
- Knowledge of CRM/business intelligence solutions
- Superior computer skills
- BA Degree (or higher) preferred
3. Physical plant management:
- Supervise the maintenance of the physical office facility including, but not limited to, maintenance of interior and exterior, equipment, and janitorial services.
- Coordinate space planning for personnel including
- Assure the corporate office equipment is operations.
4. Telecommunications management responsibilities:
- Manage all telecommunications equipment including vendor management
- Training of personnel on telecommunications systems and issues.
Responsibilities for the position include:
- Three to five years of accounting/bookkeeping experience preferably with a small business.
- College degree with a major or minor in accounting preferred.
- Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of financial/account software, such as BusinessWorks, a plus.
- Ability to produce income statements and balance sheets using standard account software.
- Proven management and supervisory skills.
- Ability to do work that demands great attention to detail and ability to assure accuracy of figures.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks and multiple projects and respond promptly to operational emergencies.
- Proficiency with computer software applications including, but not limited to, word processing, electronic data transfer programs, e-mail, web browsers, accounting/billing programs, databases, and spreadsheets.
