New York Awards $40 Million In Supportive Housing Funding
On October 9, 2014, New York awarded $40 million to 11 organizations to develop 276 units of supportive housing for homeless individuals and families, including adults with serious mental illness (SMI). The funding was through the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance’s (OTDA) Homeless Housing and Assistance Program (HHAP). In addition to the HHAP appropriation, $10 million was allocated by the State's Medicaid Redesign Team (MRT) to OTDA for the development of housing projects targeted specifically to homeless persons with disabilities who are also high-cost users of Medicaid.
