Cognitive Therapy By Primary Care Setting Effective In Telephone & Computer Delivery

People with anxiety and depression who received cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) via telephone, computer, or face-to-face in a primary care setting experienced a greater reduction symptoms than people who received no care or who were prescribed an anti-anxiety medication or antidepressant. CBT delivered through multiple formats was more effective than no treatment. Computerized/online delivery of CBT combined with antidepressants was more effective than antidepressants alone.
