California Medicaid Awards $24 Million Mental Health Pre-Admission Screening Contract To APS Healthcare Quality Review
On January 2, 2015, APS Healthcare Quality Review, Inc. will start a three-year contract valued at $24 million providing pre-admission screening and resident review (PASRR) process services for the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Mental Health Services Division. The contract runs through December 31, 2017, followed by two one-year renewals. APS Healthcare Quality Review will provide PASRR Level II evaluations for persons with mental illness admitted to, or residing in Medicaid certified hospitals or nursing facilities. DHCS uses the evaluations to make mental health treatment and placement recommendations.
