Connecticut’s Rocky Hill Mobilizes Against Proposed iCare Nursing Home For Inmates, Mental Patients
Rocky Hill town council will meet behind closed doors with its attorney to determine what steps can be taken, if any, to prevent the opening of a state- sanctioned nursing home for prisoners and the mentally ill. Mayor Anthony LaRosa and three members of the council met Monday in town hall with top state officials and representatives of the iCare Management nursing home chain to discuss the pending opening of the 95-bed facility. The state has said it hopes to have the facility licensed and operating in February.
