Biography:Robert Bertram, Advisory Board Member and Senior Associate, brings 20 years of legal experience to OPEN MINDS, and is a specialist in legal matter related to both healthcare and corporate issues. Mr. Bertram is currently Of Council at McNees, Wallace, and Nurick, and practices in the firm's Business Counseling, Securities, Financial Services and Alcoholic Beverage and Liquor License practice groups. He has substantial experience with broker-dealer, investment adviser, and trust company compliance issues, and counsels middle market, emerging and growing businesses on a wide range of legal and general business matters. He also has advised numerous companies regarding capital raising activities from both a corporate and securities law compliance perspective. Mr. Bertram has represented investment advisers, broker-dealers and other individuals before the Pennsylvania and other states securities commissions on a variety of matters, including suitability, books and records, viaticals, MLM, promissory notes and other general compliance issues. Rob has represented and defended individuals and entities in connection with alleged organizational and registration violations (including finders). He has also represented individual investors in actions against broker-dealers. Mr Bertram is a former staff counsel for the Pennsylvania Securities Commission Division of Corporation Finance and a former Committee Chair of the North American Securities Administrators Association. He served as a member of the Pennsylvania State University Task Force on Intellectual Property Policies and Procedures. He mentors undergraduate students at Penn State and students at the Dickinson School of Law. Rob frequently writes and lectures on securities issues, financial regulation, and technology law. Rob holds the Series 7, 63, and 79 securities licenses. Mr. Bertram earned a Bachelor’s Degree from The Pennsylvania State University and Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree from The Dickinson School of Law. |
