ShareMinnesota Family Investment Program Children's Mental Health Pilot

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS), through its Transition to Economic Stability Division, is seeking proposals to develop children's mental health pilot projects for the Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP). The projects should inform parents about social-emotional development and mental health screenings for children, coordinate referrals and services, and modify MFIP employment plans as appropriate. DHS will conduct an evaluation to help determine the impact of a child's mental health needs, including social-emotional needs, on the parents ability to work and participate in employment services. The term of any resulting contract is anticipated to be for 15 months, from April 1, 2008, through June 30, 2009, with a possible one-year extension.

One project will be funded. A total of $40,000 is available for the first three months of the project (April 1, 2008 June 30, 2008) and a total of $80,000 is available for the next 12 months (July 1, 2008 June 30, 2009). Funds cannot be carried forward from the first three month period into the following 12 months.
