Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Proposed Rule: Medicare & Medicaid Programs; Electronic Health Record Incentive Program

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services describes how it will implement provisions of the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act. The implementation of this Act will provide extra payments to some Medicare and Medicaid eligible medical professionals and some facilities that adopt and use electronic health records. The report focuses on  how meaningful use will be defined and how professionals and organizations can qualify for the extra payments.
