Plan for Behavioral Health
The Request for Proposals (RFP) was released at the end of December 2008.
Awards are expected by April 22, 2009. The contractor will start the
implementation period by May 2, 2009, and operations will start on
January 1, 2010. The contract runs through December 31, 2012, and has
three one-year extension options.
The selected contractor will
administer the provision of mental health and substance abuse treatment
services for the Medicaid program and substance abuse treatment services
funded by federal block grant and state appropriations for IDPH. The
contract is a full-risk capitated type for Medicaid members; for
non-Medicaid members needing substance abuse treatment, the contractor
will disburse allocated amounts for contract fees.
