 Hawaii RFP-MQD-2008-006 for QUEST Expanded Access (QExA) Managed Care
Plans to Cover Eligible Individuals Who Are Aged, Blind, or Disabled
The request for proposals (RFP-MQD-2008-006) was released on October 10,
2007. Proposals were due December 7, 2007. The Hawaii Department of Human
Service (DHS) intended to select two organizations to provide services
for contracts with an aggregate value of about $1.5 billion, which would
run through June 30, 2011. Proposals were submitted by UnitedHealth
Group, WellCare, and AlohaCare. Awards were announced on February 1,
2008, with contract execution to begin February 15, 2008. DHS selected
the proposals submitted by UnitedHealth Group and WellCare.
