Virginia Behavioral Health Services Administrator Request for Proposal

On December 16, 2011, the Virginia Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) released a request for proposals (RFP) seeking a behavioral health administrative services organization (ASO) to manage behavioral health services under a three-year contract. The contract has two one-year optional renewal. However, DMAS may rebid the contract for a full-risk managed behavioral health organization after the first three years. The ASO will manage all fee-for-service behavioral health care for Medicaid and FAMIS, Virginia’s state Children’s Health Insurance Program, and enrollees. Proposals are due January 27, 2012; the contract will start July 1, 2012.
