 What's in the Stars? Quality Ratings of Medicare Advantage Plans, 2010
The Kaiser Family Foundation reviewed the rankings the Centers for Medicare and Medcaid
Services assigned to Medicare Advantage plans to help Medicare
beneficiaries select a Medicare Advantage plan. The rating system of one to five stars, more stars indicating higher quality is based on four data sources.
Health care reform legislation proposes using these quality ratings to identify and reward high-quality plans.
