Ohio DoDD SELF Waiver Fact Sheet

In July 2012, the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities (DoDD) will launch enrollment for a new self-directed services waiver for people with developmental disabilities; the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approved DoDD's Self-Empowered Life Funding (SELF) waiver on December 9, 2011. The waiver will permit beneficiaries to direct how and from whom they recieve supports and services. DoDD will provide up to $25,000 per year for up to 100 children with intensive behavioral needs and up to $40,000 per year for 2,000 adults needing the level of care provided by an Intermediate Care Facility/Mental Retardation.
