SharePennsylvania Department of Education Special Education Statistical Summary 2007-2008

The Pennsylvania Department of Education Bureau of Special Education released this annual report that breaks down how many students with disabilities are served in by Pennsylvania schools and charter schools. Disabilities include: mental retardation, deafness or hearing impairment, speech or language impairment, blind or visual impairment, serious emotional disturbance, physical disability, other health impairment, specific learning disability, deaf-blind, multiple disabilities, autism, and traumatic brain injury. The report is a series of tables that present information about the children between the ages of three and 21 enrolled in the states special education programs. Analysis variables include race and ethnicity, Intermediate Unit providing services, charter school enrollment, students exiting special education, and severity of disability.
