ShareArizona Child Welfare Report

This report, released in compliance with Laws 2005, Chapter 286 (SB 1513), was submitted for review to the Arizona Department of Economic Security. This report is an assessment of privatization options for Arizona. The data was obtained from key stakeholders in the child welfare system: providers, Department of Child, Youth, and Family services staff, and external stakeholders. The Arizona system has many strengths that are present in other areas that have privatized child welfare services: Clearly articulated goals for the privatization efforts, positive relationships among DCYF, private agencies, and community members, DCYF contracting skills, the presence of CHILDS, a child welfare information technology system that supports contract and payment functions, as well as providing data tracking for key data points.
