Contra Costa
Mental Health Services ACT (MHSA) Three-Year Program and Expenditure
Plan Community Services and Supports FYs 2005-2008
Contra Costa Mental Health Services has created a community services
and supports three-year plan. The plan is the result of a community-wide planning process
that included the input of over 1,100 consumers, providers,
family, and community
members.
Stakeholder groups identified four key areas of concern related to
mental illness and lack of community supports:
- Adults with mental illnesses at
risk of homelessness or isolation
- Transition-aged youth with mental
illnesses at risk of homelessness or incarceration
- Children at risk of out-of-home
foster care placement, school failure, or entering the juvenile
justice system
- Older adults at risk of
hospitalization, institutionalization, or isolation
The first Proposition 63, Mental
Health Services Act plans will seek to build community-based
services capacity to serve these populations.
