ShareTennessee Veterans Home Statement of Deficiencies & Plan of Correction

The Tennessee Department of Health and Human Services and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services conducted a complaint investigation to determine the state of the Murfreesboro Veterans home. Based on a review of the facility's policies, medical records, observations, and interviews, persons at Murfreesboro were found to be in jeopardy, particularly of resident to resident abuse. Review of records showed that current care plans for many residents were not updated to document or prevent these abuses or other injuries. The investigation also found the facility to be lacking the adequate supervision needed to promote patient's upmost safety. The report also included plans from facility administrators to address these issues.
