ShareBlue Cross & Blue Shield Service Benefit Plan 2010 for Federal Employees

Blue Cross Blue Shield's Federal Employee Health Benefits (FEHB) Program has changed how it approaches parity. The plan now allows for unlimited access to outpatient mental health and substance abuse care, but the plan only covers the care if members obtain prior approval. Previously members were not required to have prior approval for outpatient out-of-network behavioral health care, but without prior approval benefits were provided at non-preferred levels. However, benefits were capped at a maximum of 25 visits per year.
