 Medicare & Medicaid Programs; Fire Safety Requirements for Long Term
Care Facilities, Automatic Sprinkler Systems
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has proposed a rule
that would require all long-term care facilities to be equipped with
sprinkler systems. This proposed rule especially requests public
comments on the duration of a phase-in period to allow long term
care facilities to install such systems. To be assured
consideration, comments must be received by December 26, 2006.
