ShareTexas Draft RFP for Statewide Youth Services Network

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) began considering comments received on a draft request for Proposals (RFP) seeking a statewide youth services network. DFPS issued the request for comment October 23, 2007, to gather comments in preparation for the formal RFP release expected on December 6, 2007. The draft RFP text indicated that the proposed due date for the upcoming RFP will be January 7, 2008; and that the selected vendor would be announced by January 28, 2008. Contract services would begin on February 15, 2008, and run through August 31, 2008; after that date the contract would be renewable on an annual basis for a total term of no more than 54 months.

DFPS seeks a vendor to establish a statewide network of community-based program to provide juvenile delinquency prevention services in each of the 11 DFPS regions. The program is intended to reduce the number of youth between the ages of 10 through 17 referred to county juvenile probation departments. The program must be evidence-based and focus on increasing the participants protective factors against juvenile delinquency.
