New York State Department of Health Medicaid Redesign Team Payment Reform and Quality Measurement Work Group

The Work Group released its final recommendations to the State of New York regarding Medicaid redesign in payment reform and quality measurement. They recommended that New York pursues a partnership agreement with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to integrate Medicaid & Medicare service delivery. Their recommendations include adopting a series of accepted performance measures across health sectors while financing for the dual eligible population. They also recommend developing general principles that can be applied towards revising the New York State DSH/Indigent Care Program and creating financing mechanisms that strengthen the financial viability of New York's essential community provider network.
