Promoting Wellness: Medical Mimics of Mental Illnesses

This presentation was delivered by Mary E Jensen, MA, RN, CRSS at the 2008 National Alternatives Conference in Buffalo, New York. In the presentation, Ms. Jensen discusses the following: finding other causes of mental symptoms besides a psychiatric diagnosis; treating common causes of mental symptoms due to medical conditions; getting good medical care starting with a comprehensive medical work up; and using tools to talk with doctors to share in the decisions that will be made.
