 No Exodus: Physicians and Managed Care Networks
The researchers sought to identify trends in physician
contracting with managed care organizations and to analyze the
differences between medical specialties to determine if existing market
factors encourage or preclude managed care contracting.
The researchers consulted the HSC Community Tracking Study Physician
Survey, a nationally representative telephone survey of physicians,
involved in direct patient care in the continental United States
that has been regularly conducted since 1996. The 2004-2005 survey
includes responses from more than 6,600 physicians.
