Contract Information Packet
The Washington Teachers Union (WTU) and District of Columbia Public
Schools (DCPS) negotiation teams have been engaged in intensive contract
negotiations for the past eight months. Although several reports in the
media have referred to potential proposals regarding seniority, tenure,
and an innovative two-tiered compensation system, the reports have often
been inaccurate and misleading. WTU and DCPS have agreed to a brief
recess in contract negotiations in order to implement a series of
informational sessions for WTU members. This document describes the
contract proposal.
