Protecting Children and Strengthening Families
This brief emphasizes the need for federal leadership and investment in child welfare. It discusses the current challenges facing children and families, including
the number of children experiencing abuse and neglect and the lack of services available to children who are mistreated. It urges the expansion of promising
programs such as home visiting programs, and calls for the federal government to invest adequate resources to develop the capacity to provide services at scale
and offer needed leadership and guidance.
