The United States District Court for The Northeastern District of Illinois: Williams v. Quinn; Opinion & Order
On September 30, 2010, U.S. District Court Judge William Hart approved an
agreement in the Williams v. Quinn class action lawsuit to transition
individuals with mental illnesses living in Illinois nursing homes, considered
institutions of mental disease, to community settings. The agreement in Williams v. Quinn gained final approval following a September 7 fairness hearing.
