ShareNorth Carolina System of Care: Levels of Residential Care for Children

The Durham Center, the Local Management Entity for Durham County, North Carolina, released this description of the levels of residential care available in the North Carolina system for children with behavioral health problems. As of September 29, 2009, the state has reduced its reliance on Levels III and IV, which are out-of-home care and generally provided in a group home setting. Going forward, those levels will only be available for children who have not improved with community-based treatment.
